She asked residents to play a leading  role in contributing towards  the construction of classrooms as a way of solving problems in the society. In this the senator said society will be able to give equal education opportunity to all children.

Students and parents in Munyinya said that the move was a timely one which would provide a solution to the problem of congestion within the education system.

The Mayor of Muhanga Yvonne Mutakwasuku revealed that the district needs at least 75 classrooms by the end of 2010 in order to accommodate the increasing numbers of learners.

Residents promised to combine efforts and contribute to the government program of improving the status of education nationally.

Maria Louisa Murekatete, the Headmistress of Munyinya, one of the best primary schools in the district, lauded residents and government for their contribution in meeting some of the school’s needs.

"Residents have participated actively. There has been tremendous support from society generally and this will go a long way in improving our  standards of education” Murekatete said.
