APR’s new recruits Albert Ngabo (pic) and Jean Luc Ndayishimiye ‘Bakame’ are eager to win trophies with the club.

Ngabo crossed over from arch-rivals Rayon Sport in a deal worth Rwf11.3m while Bakame joined from Atraco for an undisclosed fee.

During his first training session with the reigning league champions, Ngabo, who can play at right back, central midfield and on the wings told Times Sport that is in prepared to help APR achieve bigger things in the future.

"I can’t wait for the new season to begin. I have this feeling that it’s going to be a success because we have a very good team with very quality players,” the 19-year-old said.

"I hope I will add something to the team and help the team win more trophies. APR is a big club with a big history so I’m happy to be here.”

"On top of the league and Peace Cup, I hope that the team will have a real go at the Cecafa Cup as well as the Champions League,” the former Rayon Sport defender added.

Meanwhile, having tasted success in the Cecafa Cup with Atraco, shot stopper Bakame is keen to replicate that success with APR.

The 25-year-old custodian said, "We will be competing in next year’s Cecafa Kagame cup and my mission is to help the club win the competition.”

Bakame is also Amavubi’s second choice goal keeper.
