Editor, I say conflict is outdated. I’m stating this following the riots in Uganda which were caused by the Buganda Kingdom’s rivalry with the Ugandagovernment. I say, the rioters should have thought twice before causing that entire fracas; it was just a sorry excuse for criminals to burn police posts and loot shops in Kampala.

I say conflict is outdated. I’m stating this following the riots in Uganda which were caused by the Buganda Kingdom’s rivalry with the Ugandagovernment.
I say, the rioters should have thought twice before causing that entire fracas; it was just a sorry excuse for criminals to burn police posts and loot shops in Kampala.
After decades of conflict spreading from Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, down to DRC, then Rwanda’s Genocide against the Tutsi to Kenya’s post election violence, to Zimbabwe, Africans need to realize that fighting is not the way forward.
If this is hard to understand, people need to look at real life examples of the various conflict zones.
Rwanda’s has a success story after the Genocide and it has currently the best business environment in the region. One of the reasons that this is so is because of the security that the government has put in place.
However, when we look at Somalia, it’s the exact opposite. Now an economic failure, the Horn of Africa country still insists on bloodshed.
This hasn’t helped their situation and I believe the only way that big and small conflict zones can have peace is if a little wisdom can seep into their brains.
People have to understand that conflict is not the answer. Rwanda is the best teacher and other states in the region can learn from her experiences.
