A 20-year old boy identified as Paul Uwitonze was shot dead on Monday night by police behind Caritas library building in Kigali City.

They suspected him to be a robber.
Eric Kayiranga, the police spokesman, said the deceased was shot at mid-night in a fight with the police man on duty.

Kayiranga added the place is a hideout for robbers during the night.

However, the employees of Caritas said that there are 15 homeless youths who sleep there.

The deceased was said to be a student of APAFORME vocational training school in Kicuciro.
