THE region’s football governing body (Cecafa) is already working round the clock to secure sponsorship for this year’s Challenge Cup. The event is scheduled for November 28-December 13 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The body’s Secretary General Nicholas Musonye told Times Sport yesterday that the search is already on.

"We have approached a number of companies and are now waiting for their response,” Musonye said before adding, "We should have a sponsor by the end of the week.”

Before hosting the event, Kenya has to adhere to Cecafa’s newly drafted condition that a host nation must have at least three fully functional stadiums.

Last year, Uganda Cranes outwitted Kenya’s Harambee Stars to lift their tenth title.
