Editor,

This letter is in reference to your editorial in yesterday’s Sunday Times. I fully endorse your views about the Immigration Department.

Most often, as you have rightly said, an Immigration department is very difficult to deal with. But definitely not the Immigration Department in Rwanda.

There is an extremely high level of efficiency at all levels in the Immigration department. And it is so wonderful to be able to get a VISA in the shortest possible time, by just applying ONLINE. Even queries are replied to most promptly.

My only request to the Immigration department is that they should follow neighbouring KENYA and fellow EAC Country in reducing the VISA charge .

Kenya have slashed their VISA charge from USD 50 to USD 25. Rwanda still charges USD 60 for a VISA.

Kind regards

Yours sincerely
