Cogebanque Plc in partnership with Care and Help Child Organization and Umurage organization on November 10 provided exercise books and school fees to more than 300 pupils at Ecole Primaire de Kariyeri and 150 at Gisozi II primary school in Gisozi Sector, Gasabo District.

The support reflects the bank’s strong attachment to the value of education in promoting a knowledge-based economy, as well as fostering partnerships with other social actors and aligning themselves with national development priorities.

Although Rwanda has a flexible education system that facilitates basic education for all, some parents can’t afford even the little contribution required of them which compels the bank and its partners to offer their contribution.

During the giveaway event, Antoine Iyamuremye, Head of Marketing and Product Development at Cogebanque Plc said, "In Cogebanque, we believe that education is strong pillar to the country’s development and a channel to gain the knowledge and skills needed to become a better person and create a better society to live in. This explains our commitment to support even the basic education; that is where it all starts, so it can’t be neglected.”

He added, "We provided exercise books, school fees, and literature books to over 300 students and 150 students at Ecole Primaire de Kariyeri and Gisozi II primary school, respectively. Children are our country's future leaders, and we are committed to joining forces with the government's massive efforts to provide basic education for all.”

The activity which is part of Cogebanque Plc’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) also saw 100 pupils at Ecole Primaire de Kariyeri getting school fees.

Gloria Gatsinzi, CEO and founder of Care and Help Child Organization thanked Cogebanque Plc for supporting the activity, adding that supporting children is supporting the country and its future.

She added: "I’m very passionate about helping children because they are like seeds. The more we invest in them, the more we are assured of our leaders and heroes of tomorrow.
