Rwandan teenager Axel Muramira has signed his first professional contract with Belgian Jupiler Pro League side Standard Liege.

Muramira, 15, was in the Academy of Liege where he showcased enough potential to earn him a professional contract. He has also been promoted to the second team of the club which plays in the third tier.

Muramira is a versatile defender who can operate anywhere across the back four though his preferred position is centre back.

He becomes the second Rwandan in the books of Standard Liege after Hakim Sahabo who is on loan at Beerschot.
