At least 30 children from Koninis Child Headed Households recently received certificates after successfully training in hospitality and hotel management.

The training was conducted by the Youth Employment Systems (YES) in their ongoing programme to build capacities among the youth.

In his remarks, Henry Clarke Kisembo, the YES Rwanda programme coordinator, revealed that eight of the trained youths have already secured jobs through the programme’s employer-employee connections.

"Among those trained some have already got jobs, and we are sure that with the skills acquired their lives and lives of their siblings who depend on them will be positively impacted,” he noted.

In an interview with Eulade Mutimura one of the trainees, he said these skills have given them confidence to look for any possible opportunity of working to make their lives better.

The trainees, most of whom are children orphaned by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, extended their gratitude to YES Rwanda for facilitating the training and promised to deliver quality services when they start working.
