THE team for the upcoming Francophone Games has joined residential training reports Bonnie Mugabe.

According to the Secretary General of the local athletics federation (RAF) Apollinaire Munyangoga, the eight-man team which is set to reside at Hotel Tech in Remera comprises of national ace Dieudonne Disi (10000m), Sylvain Rukundo(10000m), Godfrey Rutayisire(5000m), Felix Ntirenganya(Full Marathon), Epiphanie Nyirabarame(Full Marathon), Claudette Mukasakindi(10000m), Jackline Murekatete(5000m) and Jean d’Arc Uwamahoro(800m).
Disi is the 10,000m Francophone Games defending champion and intends to fly to France for intensive preparations.

Disi scooped gold in 10,000m and bronze in 5000m in the last edition held in Niger.

This year, the games are scheduled for September 27-October 6 in Beirut, Lebanon and Rwanda intends to compete in four disciplines; cultural dances, football, athletics and table tennis.
