Mukura Victory Sports head coach Afahmia Lotfi has heaped praise on his players following Saturday’s stunning 1-0 victory over Rayon Sports.

The Tunisian coach completed a double over the league leaders with Samson Oladosu scoring the match winner in the 74th minute at Amahoro Stadium in match day 22 of the Rwanda Premier League

Lotfi was excited by his team’s performance as the players played to instructions.

"I am very happy with my players because they did exactly what I told them,” Lofti said in a post-match interview.

"The plan was to cut Rayon Sports off on the wings. They also like to possess the ball so we allowed them to keep the ball but we increased our numbers while defending and occasionally we hit them on the break,” he added.

Saturday’s win moved Mukura to fifth place with 33 points with a game in hand against Rutsiro on Tuesday. A win could push them to 3rd position on the league table.

On the other side, Rayon Sports head coach Robertinho admitted it was tough and he congratulated Mukura for the victory.

"It was a very difficult game for us. Mukura is a good team and they are difficult to beat. Congratulations to them," Robertinho mentioned

Rayon will now have to put the loss behind and shift focus on the Peace Cup semifinals against the same opponent next week.
