RWANDA OTC MARKET REPORT : Week ended Friday September 4, 2009

Last week the Rwanda Over The Counter (OTC) market recorded a total turnover of Rwf112,000 from 700 Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) shares traded in one transaction at the price of Rwf160.

Last week the Rwanda Over The Counter (OTC) market recorded a total turnover of Rwf112,000 from 700 Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) shares traded in one transaction at the price of Rwf160.

At the close of the trading session on Friday, KCB counter had no shares on offer and no buyers.

Thursday on the Nairobi Stock Exchange, the KCB shares traded within the range of Ksh22.50 (Rwf168) and Ksh21.50 (Rwf160) and closed at Ksh21.75 (Rwf162).

A total of 544,300 shares were traded as the NSE All share index closed at 69.42. No KCB shares were traded on both the Dares Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and Uganda Securities Exchange (USE).

The Bond Market

The bond market on the Rwanda OTC market was quiet as no transactions were recorded.

At the close of the business, Rwf2 billion worth of Treasury bonds were on offer (sellers) at Rwf99.8 and there were two bids (buyers) of Rwf2 billion and Rwf5million for the same bonds at 94.00 and 97.80, respectively.

There were also BCR corporate bonds worth Rwf150 million on offer at Rwf100.50.
