APR continued their winning streak in the Rwanda Basketball League with a comfortable 96-77 over Orion on Friday night, March 28, at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium.

Fresh from a massive win last week against Espoir, James Maye Jr’s men again sent a chilling message to their next opponents, with center Aliou Diarra leading the way with 20 points and 14 rebound to guide APR to a 12th win in a row.

Orion had won three games and were hoping to make it four in league but APR had other ideas of their own.

The Rwandan champions won the first quarter 17-13 and second quarter 29-25, leading the way with 46-38 at half-time.

However, Orion returned for the second half looking well-organised, hence claiming the third quarter 19-18 but APR, who have become the masters of the fourth quarter, again did what they normally do better and took the last quarter 32-20.

Despite the loss, Orion remained in the sixth place with 13 points in 10 games, while APR continue to lead the league table with 24 points.

In another game, Tigers beat struggling Espoir 103-84 to go in fourth place with 15 points.
