Lesotho head coach Leslie Notsi insists Rwanda wasted a host of glaring chances and they cost them during Tuesday’s 1-1 draw in Kigali.
Rwanda were leading 1-0 through Jojea Kwizera until the 82nd minute when Lehlohonolo Fothoane equalized for Lesotho to hold Amavubi.
Notsi said that he came with a game plan which was to soak pressure and play on the break because he was expecting Rwanda to attack.
He emphasizing that that the hosts missed a host of glorious chances and he punished them with just one opportunity.
"Rwanda created a host of chances but spoiled them all so we punished them with the one we had," Notsi told the journalists in a post-match press conference.
"The game was tough as we had expected. Knowing Rwanda had lost previously and would love to have maximum points, we had a plan to absorb pressure and create goal scoring opportunities on the break. We made some chances and we got the equalizer. We earned a point against a quality team like Rwanda," he added.
Lesotho are fifth on the table with 6 points from 6 games while Amavubi are 2nd with 8 points.
