Nigeria captain Troost-Ekong has said that they have maximum respect for Rwanda but that his team is in Kigali with a duty to accomplish.

Troost-Ekong reiterated that he and his teammates owe Nigerians nothing during this campaign other than securing a ticket to World Cup 2026 and winning against Rwanda is crucial for their quest.

"We are here for one thing--we want to win. Rwanda is a good team, we faced them few times in the past two years and they have showed their level. We are ready and we want to win. We have to deliver the ticket for Nigeria," the defender said.

Nigeria may have an upper hand on the match but head coach Eric Chelle warned that Rwanda won&039;t come easy either as new head coach Adel Amrouche already has a point to prove ahead of the crunch encounter.

"We need to be focused on our team and our project. Rwanda is a great team. They have a new coach and they want to win as well," Chelle stressed

In their past five meetings, each team recorded one win with the other 3 games ending in a draw.

Rwanda is top of the table with 7 points from 4 games while Nigeria is in fifth place with 3 points.
