The Equity Market

Today the Rwanda OTC recorded a turnover of Rwf 112,000 from KCB shares traded in 2 transactions at the price of
Rwf160.

On Monday 1st September, The Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) had a total of 513,500 KCB shares traded.

Theses shares traded between 19.80 Kshs (Rwf145) and Kshs 21(Rwf153) to close at 20.50 Kshs (Rwf148); a 0.70 Ksh(Rwf 5) increase in the price from the previous closing.

The NSE all share indexes closed in the positive territory at 67.79points. The trading volumes also more than tripled from Friday’s session. On Monday 23,456,200 shares were traded compared to 7,279,600 shares traded on Friday.

DSE (Dares Salaam Stock Exchange and USE (Uganda Securities Exchange) did not trade KCB shares.

The Bond Market:

On the bond market no transactions were recorded.  At the close of business, Rwf 2 billion worth of Government bonds were on offer (sellers) at Rwf 99.8 and there were two bids (buyers) of Rwf 2 billion and Rwf 5 million for the same bonds at 94.00 and 97.80, respectively.

There were also BCR bank bonds worth Rwf 150 million on offer at Rwf 100.50.
