BRALIRWA donates books to rubavu community library

RUBAVU -  Rwanda’s leading beverages manufacturer Bralirwa S.A, has donated an assortment of text books to a youth cultural centre to boost education standards in Rubavu District.

RUBAVU -  Rwanda’s leading beverages manufacturer Bralirwa S.A, has donated an assortment of text books to a youth cultural centre to boost education standards in Rubavu District.

The books worth Rwf 5million were handed over last weekend, as part of celebrations to mark the company’s 50th anniversary. 

Handing over the books, Bralirwa’s Managing Director, Sven Piederiet, said the company is committed to building the capacity of residents in the area.

"Bralirwa is not living in isolation; it is an integral part of the Rwandan society.

As such on this special occasion of our 50th anniversary we would like to show our continued commitment to our corporate social responsibility programmes,” he said. 

He announced that Bralirwa has earmarked Rwf 250 million for the construction of Rambo Secondary School which is also located in the district.  

The construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2011.

Meanwhile, on the same day Bralirwa organised a football match between local teams Marine FC and Entircelles FC.

In his speech, Rubavu Mayor, Pierre Celestin Twagirayezu hailed the company’s social responsibility programmes  of reaching out to the local community and their support towards developmental activities. 

"We are delighted to have cordial relations existing between Bralirwa management and local authorities mainly within the community development efforts,” Twagirayezu noted.
