Uganda have won the Cecafa Under-17 football tournament after beating Eritrea 2-0 at the Khartoum Stadium, Sudan Monday night.

Mohamed Anguzu scored the opener in the 28th minute with Julius Kigozi killing the match in the 88th.

The Ugandans, runners up to Burundi in Bujumbura two years ago are also champions of Cecafa U-20 and Senior Challenge Cup.

Meanwhile, two late goals is what Tanzania needed to beat Sudan in the process finish third.

After toying with their hosts most of the second half, The Serengeti Boys confirmed some pride in the 11-nation tournament when Thomas Emmanuel scored the opener in the 84th minute.

Before the Sudanese could recover, Simon Msuva scored the second.

The match played under a scotching sun and unbearable heat lacked any fireworks especially in the first half but the Tanzanians looked better composed as it progressed.
