Beyond music, Ish Kevin told The New Times that his passion for racing was sparked by his uncle, Genese Semana, a celebrated rally driver with several accolades in Rwanda’s Mountain Gorilla Rally, who introduced him to the sport at a tender age.
"This is a family tradition that I feel I am meant to continue,” Ish Kevin said. "I’ve always been passionate about motorsport and, with my uncle’s guidance, I believe it’s my turn to carry on that legacy.”
Asked by the preparation for his debut rally race, the rapper said that he has been strictly preparing for the rally, ensuring his physical fitness and improving his skills in speed and control.
"I’ve been practicing for a while, and I’m confident that I’m in peak condition. With the support and experience of my co-pilot, I have no doubt that we will win our first race,” he added.

The rally, organized by the Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC), normally attracts over 10 drivers who battle it out for the ultimate prizes, which include a trophy and points to participate in the motorsport championship.
