Olivier Costa is currently ranked fourth going into the fifth round of the Africa Rally Championship, which starts today, August 28 to 30 in the Zimbabwean capital Harare.
The Belgian born driver, who is sponsored by Burn energy drink and BF Goodrich, has enjoyed a good run on the ARC calendar this season against the best on the continent raking up 9.5 points after four rounds (rallies).
Meanwhile, after a gruelling 6 day journey, Costa and his Rwanda Rally Team arrived in Harare on Wednesday.
The team that departed from Kigali a week ago drove through Tanzania and Zambia where they stopped over at Munha Singh’s garage to service the Subaru N 11 race car.
On Monday both Costa and Singh departed from Zambia and took on another 500km journey to Harare.
Costa who currently lies 5th on the Africa Rally Championship table will be Rwanda’s only representative.
When asked what his motivation was to travel long distances to participate in the ARC events, Costa said;
"It is because of passion and also is an opportunity to promote Rwanda across the continent.
As a Rally driver, I believe my participation lets people know more about our beautiful country.”
