KARONGI- Police in Bwishyura Sector, Karongi District, are holding a 16-year old boy for allegedly defiling a fellow minor.

The boy (names withheld), is also accused of drug abuse and is said to have been caught having sex with the 15-year old girl last week.  

Speaking to The New Times, the boy admitted to have defiled the girl but denied the drug abuse charge.

The P3 pupil in Mubuga Sector was this week denied bail by the High Instance Court of Karongi.

If convicted, he could be handed a lighter punishment less than the stipulated 25 years because he is a minor.
