Province incurring monthly loses 

Local government is losing more than Rwf 4m every month following the halting of construction of the Eastern Provincial headquarters.

According to the Governor Dr.Ephraim Kabaija provincial and Rwamagana district employees have turned to renting of space in different places for meetings and other activities.

Six cows donated to needy people

Six residents of Nyabihu district have received cows under the Giri Inga programme.

The animals were handed over to the residents by the programme coordinator Eversiste Bizimana.

Frank Kobukyeye in charge of economic planning in the district said that donation was a sign of government’s commitment to get people out of poverty.

District awards the sectors over achievement

Three sectors in Rubavu district were yesterday hailed by the district over their achievements reached in the six months.

Protais Murayirwa, the district official told the sectors to keep on striving for the best.The three sectors were rewarded with Rwf 300,000.

London runs for gorillas

Rwanda will be among the countries that will benefit from the Great Gorilla Run marathon in London next month, organizers said yesterday.

The marathon will raise funds for rare animals - also found in a massive habitat shared between Rwanda, Uganda and DR Congo.

The unique 7km marathon will see runners cover several streets of London.
