Editor,

I read in this paper yesterday that Police has called upon motor cycle taxi operators to be vigilant in fighting and reporting crime.

It’s common knowledge that crooks usually hire these motor cyclists to take them destinations where they have dubious doings.

This is sometimes done supposedly without the cyclist’s knowledge of the actual goings on.

However, I believe sometimes, these cyclists are also hired to help the crooks make their quick exits from the crime scenes.
It’s good therefore that Police is calling upon them to be on the look out and to report any suspicious undertakings.

If the cyclists can heed to this call, they will save many citizens a lot of discomfort and they too are among the beneficiaries.

So many times, motorcyclist themselves are victims. They are robbed of helmets, the bikes and their hard earned money.

So, by reporting suspicious characters, they will be doing themselves a service too.

This call for their cooperation is therefore very timely. Keep it national police. We appreciate what you are doing.
