Twenty-seven teams confirmed participation in the second edition of Rwanda Basketball Cup slated for March 5.

The second edition of the tournament is scheduled from March 5 to September 10 and it will feature teams from both topflight to lower divisions.

This year, 20 men’s teams and seven women’s teams are set to participate.

The men’s teams have been pooled into five groups, with seven teams from first division securing direct entry to the quarter-finals.

In the women's category, the seven participating teams have been divided into two groups. The tournament will start on April 3.

APR won the inaugural Rwanda Cup in both men and women categories, beating their rivals Rwanda Energy Group (REG) in both finals.

Qualifiers Rwanda Cup Men' teams: UR Kigali, IGIHOZO Ste Peter, EAUR M BBC, THE HOOPS, Christian basketball team, Kicukiro Buckets, Greater Virunga, Rebero Angels, Inspired Generation, Black Thunders, Kigali Elite, Keplerian and Flame.

Final phase Rwanda Cup men's teams: APR, Orion, Patriots, Tigers, REG, Kepler and United Generation Basketball (UGB).

Women category: APR, EAUR, AZOMCO, REG, Kepler, The Hoops and UR Kigali.
