GISELE Umumararungu is expected to use her vast experience to her advantage when the Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) 14 and Under African circuit swings to Kigali next Wednesday.

The 14-year-old, who won last year’s edition after ousting a Kenyan in the final, will contend with youngsters from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Ethiopia and Botswana.

Each country will field a team of four players; two boys and two girls at the five-day event, which will be staged at Cercle Sportif.

According to Thierry Ntwali, the technical director of the Rwanda Tennis Federation (RTF), Umumararungu, who missed last week’s Burundi leg, has a good chance of defending her title.
