Point guard Odile Tetero scored a game-high 21 points to help her Rwanda Energy Group edge APR 68-59 in the Rwanda Women Basketball League on Saturday, March 1 at Petit Stade indoor Gymnasium.
Malian Kadidia Maiga and Sandrine Mushikiwabo contributed 19 and 12 points respectively, for Julian Martinez’s REG who were the dominant side for the biggest part of the game.
APR started the brightly taking the first 24-19, but REG responded quickly to win the second quarter 15-10 to tie the scores 34-34 at the break.
Back in the second half, REG dominated the army side and won the third quarter 19-12 and last quarter 15-13 to secure the win which saw them maintain their top spot.
In another game held on Saturday at Petit Stade, in the women’s league, The Hoops edged UR-Kigali 83-23, AZMCO beating Groups Scolaire Marie Reine Rwaza 57-39.
Currently, Kepler leads at the top with 15 points, three points clear of IPRC-Huy who are in second place with 12 points while APR are third with 11 points.
REG is in fourth place with 10 points.
