As we pop the champagne to celebrate Bralirwa’s 50th birthday, it is important to note that this beverage maker’s presence is, in a way indelibly linked to the growth of our nation-state over time.

The country’s tribulations, challenges and triumphs are all reflected in Bralirwa’s 50th celebration in one way or another.

For instance the celebration can be marked with hindsight that the resilience of a nation has some sort of dividends that are generated over time.

Bralirwa’s shareholders among them an international beverage maker Heineken NV, withstood all the tribulations that this country went through and now enjoy the true taste of liberation on this momentous day.

It is thus befitting for the management of Bralirwa, to rally all and sundry to such an occasion by throwing a bash which can be termed as truly national.

The journey Bralirwa has traveled is a long one. Just like the journey the Rwandan nation has traveled. As we celebrate its 50th birthday ,Bralirwa has unveiled lots of goods to various stake-holders.

On this day of popping champagne bottles, the global CEO of Heineken NV, Jean Francois Van Boxmer came in with very good news; Bralirwa is going to step up local value additions within its entire production system.

This is definitely going to be a boon to those who supply various raw materials to this beverage maker.

For one, the farmers and other commercial concerns who supply inputs, a further 20% intake of local products into Bralirwa’s supply chain is bound to have a huge trickle down effect to the economy.

Yet another item which is joyous is the announcement that within the EAC spirit, Bralirwa is set to spread its wings to the region.

Apart from signifying the fact that local companies can reciprocate the widening of the EAC market by competing regionally, this gesture is premised on the fact that local companies are now receiving dividends that come with the struggle for good governance.

That time is now ripe to make forays into the region.

Thus we can say that this celebration should be seen within a wider context which is that resilience of a nation has definitely some dividends.
