MUSANZE – Traders of farm inputs have been urged to always advise farmers on better product sensitization before making sales.

The executive secretary of the farmers’ umbrella association in the province, (Urugaga Imbaraga) Joseph Gafaranga, made the remarks while opening a five-day training session for 20 farmers dealing in agro related products in the district.

He asked the traders to work closely with agronomists to ensure proper application of pesticides, fertilisers and the planting of improved seeds.

"Farmers need to understand the type of fertilisers they need, duration of applying such inputs and the quantity of pesticides needed,’’ Gafaranga said.

Farmers expressed concerns by reporting that some dealers of agro-related products sell expired products to them which lead to poor production.
