Mini-expo opens in Huye town

HUYE – A mini trade expo organised by Ngoma sector kicked off on Monday at Huye Stadium. It has attracted over 45 exhibitors from within and outside the district.Officially opening the exposition, the district Mayor Francois Uhagaze hailed the sectors’ spirit of innovation which he said should inspire other people in the private sector.

HUYE – A mini trade expo organised by Ngoma sector kicked off on Monday at Huye Stadium. It has attracted over 45 exhibitors from within and outside the district.

Officially opening the exposition, the district Mayor Francois Uhagaze hailed the sectors’ spirit of innovation which he said should inspire other people in the private sector.

"You should never fail to try. The sector has very limited resources but has managed to put up a well organised trade exposition, the first of its kind to be organised at sector level,” the Mayor said.

Big companies like MTN Rwanda, beverage producer Bralirwa, Star Media and Sina Gerard’s Nyirangarama are cashing in on the big turn up of exposition goers which had attracted 5,000 goers on the opening day.

According to the Ngoma sector executive secretary, Anonciata Kambayire the exposition is an opportunity for business community in the sector to showcase what they have to offer and to learn from their colleagues.

"We are working on improving the business climate in the sector and this trade exposition is one way of achieving this end. Business people will be able to showcase what they do and at the same time learn from their colleagues,” she said.

Kambayire added that part of the proceeds from the trade exposition will be devoted to the construction of a sector Genocide memorial. The exposition ends Monday August 24.
