APR’s new recruit John Karangwa (pic) has joined the Amavubi camp ahead of next month’s do or die World/ Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Egypt.

The 25-man team is currently under-going residential training at La Palace hotel. Karangwa signed for APR early this month from Ugandan side URA in a deal estimated to be in the region of US$15.000(Rwf 8.3 millions).

The 25-year-old defender, who has a Congolese father, is eligible to play for the national side since his mother is Rwandese.

But Ferwafa’s Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa has warned that Karangwa has to prove himself to Amavubi coach Tucak Branko before dreaming of a debut appearance for Rwanda.

"He is already in camp with the rest of the players. We all know that he is a quality defender put he needs to prove that to the coach,” Kalisa reckoned.
