AMAVUBI Stars skipper Olivier Karekezi has passed trials with English League Two club Notts County, according to sources.
The development was confirmed by a close relative to a Rwandan, who works with Notts County in the United Kingdom.

However, Times Sport could not verify the news because there is no credible source to ask, and there was nothing related to Karekezi on Notts County official website (www.nottscountyfc.co.uk) by press time.

According to unconfirmed reports, Karekezi passed physical, technical and fitness tests over the weekend and was due to undergo ‘mindset’ test yesterday.

Should everything go according to plan, the former Helsingborgs striker cum midfielder will have a medical at Meadow Lane this week.

Karekezi flew to England on Thursday where he held talks with the club’s technical director Sven Goran Eriksson before undergoing a series of trials.

The former APR star came close to joining Al-Ahly last month but the deal stalled after his Norwegian side, Ham Kam, failed to reach an agreement with the Egyptian giants.

Meanwhile, Eriksson has expressed his desire to bring Patrick Vieira, Pavel Nedved, and Luis Figo to the lower division ambitious club.
