Editor,

I have few comments to make on how the customer care service is still behind compared to our sister countries in East Africa region.

When I recently attended the just concluded EXPO 2009, I went around and looked left and right to see how service delivery was performed.

Among the many different sites, where different exhibitors tried their best to win over the customers, I noticed the disparities between the manners in which local exhibitors and foreign ones did their business.

For example, when I visited a local stand, which was selling a certain beverage, I noticed that the majority of the crowd was there simply because they enjoyed the drinks.

But when I turned my attention to the stands of the East African exhibitors, I noticed that they actively attempted to attract customers by using various ploys.

And as a result, their stands, which had a similar product as the local exhibitors, were packed to the brim with customers.

Our young industries should learn use the opportunities that the yearly Expo avails to learn new tactics sales tactics from the foreign exhibitors of how they can sell and market their goods.
