Robert Kabera, a.k.a Sgt. Robert shot to fame in 1999 with his hit single ‘Igihugu cyacu’ (our country).

Singer/songwriter, Sgt. Robert is set to release his first album "Kigali Vipi”, which was entirely recorded and produced in Rwanda, according to the singer.

"The album will be launched very soon, and I’m planning a mega concert,” Sgt. Robert told The New Times.

"The album will be launched in two sessions; a VIP concert at Kigali Serena and at the Petit Stade. Famous artists, including Uganda’s Bobi Wine will perform during the launch.”

Sgt. Robert, is a member of the Army Jazz band, but has released 20 singles and two albums as a solo artiste.
Most of his tracks, like "Weekend”, have hit radio airwaves, making him a famous musician.

He has performed in several local concerts and international music festivals, including the annual Pan African Dance Festival (Fespad), which is normally held in the country.

The 30-year-old is also compared to Shaggy by his fans, because of his terrific deep tone.

Sgt. Robert has been in the industry for quite sometime and by the look of things, the singer is here to stay—at least for sometime.
