Nyamasheke approves Rwf 6 billion budget

NYAMASHEKE — The district has approved a Rwf6.6 billion budget for the year 2009/2010 .  

The District Executive Secretary, Jean Pierre Ndagijimana told The New Times that over Rwf 4 billion will be sourced from the central government, while a further  Rwf 2 Billion will come from donors, while the district will contribute the balance amounting to Rwf  3 Billion.

"The district advisory council approved this budget for the fiscal year 2009 and 2010. The money will be allocated according to the set priorities,” Ndagijimana said. 

He added that the district expects to construct a number of primary and secondary schools in Kagano and Shangi sectors which were destroyed by the earthquake.

Various roads that are in poor state will also be upgraded.  
Funds have been allocated for the construction of a Genocide memorial site in Gihombo sector, and extension of power to Rangiro, Macuba and Nyabitekeri.
