In the efforts to make vision 2020 a reality, major infrastructural investment will be required in the areas of energy, water, telecommunication and transport to reduce costs, whilst increasing their quality and reliability.

Improvements in education and health standards will be crucial for providing an efficient and productive workforce.

The burden can not be left to the government alone but rather it should be a shared obligation for both the public and private sector.

Kenluxury (RW) LTD is water Engineering Company operating in Rwanda trying to provide water technology, mechanical and electrical engineering services.

Sunday Times’ Richard Nkubito caught up with Manor Orit the MD for Kenluxury (RW) LTD for an interview and below are excerpts:

Qn. Could you, please, briefly introduce yourself to the Sunday Times’ readers?

My name is Mrs Manor Orit.

We are co-directors of Kenluxury (RW) ltd. Company with my husband, Mr Leon Manor.

Leon is an Engineer and is in charge of technical support systems while I’m the Managing Director in charge of Logistics, Finance and Administration.

We started this company 16 years ago in Kenya and it is three years ago that we got our first job with RRA here in Kigali.

Since then we have established the water Engineering Company and we are operating full scale with our offices in Kimihurura.

Qn. What is your take on vision 2020?

I admire vision 2020, I believe in it, in my perspective I see its implementation in a practical sense. It is real and I’m honestly happy about it.

Take a small example of communication; I can now speak to children in rural areas in English.

Qn. How does Kenluxury (RW) ltd translate the vision 2020 in its daily activities?

This is a water technology company with mechanical and electrical engineering services. Our services range from consultation, design, supply, installation, to repairs and maintenance.

We have sewage treatment plants for domestic and commercial settings, computerized irrigation systems, chromagen- water solar heating systems for domestic and commercial use.

These are Israel based technologies well known for their simplicity and efficiency.

Besides this, we also offer capacity building services to the community.

This ranges from our employees to students of technology who need some information. We give this free of charge.

Our company believes in environmental protection and it is also reflected in our projects.

Qn. Any challenges so far?

Our biggest challenge is awareness. Reaching out to the Rwandan community so that they can know about these services; their importance, the quality of life they bring and yet they remain affordable.

Qn. What is your message to the entire community as regards the vision?

My message to the community is to urge them to absorb the new concept of vision 2020 that comes with new development and education.
