Jacques Uwimana is the Executive Secretary of Remera Sector in Gasabo district. Below he tells us how he handles his typical work day:

I wake-up at 6a.m and have a 15 minute physical exercise. I bathe and have breakfast.

At 6:45 I drop my child to school in Kimironko.

By 7a.m I must have arrived at my office. I start work immediately.

After I have ensured that I have completed the previous day’s pending work, I attend to day’s program and people’s concerns.

I normally have lunch at around 1p.m near my workplace. I report back to office after an hour and work until 6p.m.

I sometimes hold different meetings with officers from different levels which sometimes force me to leave office at 7 or 8p.m.

Occasionally I am at home after 8p.m. When I get home, I have a shower and spend some time conversing with family members.

I have my supper at around 9, pray with my family and get to bed by 10p.m.
