She-Amavubi captain Angeline Ndikumana is confident in their ability to eliminate Egypt in the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The captain of the women’s national football team (She-Amavubi), Angeline Ndikumana, believes they are capable of eliminating Egypt in the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The first leg of the match will take place on February 21 in Kigali, with the return leg set for February 25 in Ismailia, Egypt.

"Egypt are a great team and have massive history on the continent but if we prepare well, we can beat them. We have been preparing for this match because we know how hard it is going to be,” Ndikumana said.

She-Amavubi will be led by coach Andre Casa Mbungo, who was appointed just last week.

If Rwanda beats Egypt, they will face the Black Queens of Ghana in the next round of the qualifiers for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The national women's team has not played a match for over a year, with their last game taking place against Ghana in September 2023.

A total of 38 African nations will compete for one of the 12 spots in the final tournament.
