Minister meets church leaders

The Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Dr Jeanne d’Arc Mujawamariya has told religious leaders in Kimihurura, Gasabo district to play a role in solving different problems facing women in the country. 

She said that the church provides a better forum where different problems can be discussed and solved since they bring together many people.

WB President visits ex-combatants

World Bank Group president, Robert Zoellick on Wednesday visited ex-combatants in Nyarugunga sector on his tour of the World Bank funded projects.

The ex-combatants welcomed for the joint cooperation between the government of Rwanda and the World Bank to construct over 80 houses in the area which have been given to the ex-combatants.

Zoellick told the ex-combatants that they still have a lot to contribute for the country.

Orinfor donates Rwf3.1m

staff of the national information office (ORINFOR), Wednesday donated Rwf3.1m to the One Dollar Campaign.

During the function, the acting director of ORINFOR, Willy Rukundo urged other institutions to follow suit by donating to the campaign.

Residents cautioned on volcanic eruptions

The Red Cross has helda  two-day sensitization training for residents who reside around Mount Nyiragongo to be prepared in case of a volcanic eruption.

Emmanuel Mpazimpaka, the Red Cross chairman in Rubavu said that there have been indications of possible volcanic eruptions, urging residents to remain on the alert.
