A former bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Shyira, who faces graft charges, appeared in court on Wednesday, February 12, in Musanze District.

Samuel Mugisha Mugiraneza, who was arrested in January pending investigation into alleged embezzlement and misuse of church funds for his personal gain, appeared at Muhoza Primary Court in Musanze for bail hearing.

Mugiraneza, who was initially detained at Remera Station of Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), had resigned as the bishop of Shyira, one of twelve dioceses of the Anglican Church of Rwanda.
