President Paul Kagame and his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto on Sunday, November 6 met in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, ahead of the UN climate conference (COP27).

"The two leaders discussed the continued positive and fruitful bilateral relationship between Kenya and Rwanda," a tweet from Village Urugwiro revealed.

The COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh has attracted world leaders, who for the next two weeks will discuss ways to mitigate climate change, among them being climate financing.

At the COP27, Rwanda will be showcasing green investment opportunities.

Also in Sharm el-Sheikh, President Kagame, who is the Chair-in-Office of the Commonwealth, also met with Patricia Scotland, the organisation's secretary general.

Scotland briefed the president on the progress made on the goals set by the Commonwealth countries during the organisation's heads of state and government meeting (CHOGM) hosted in Kigali earlier this year.

President Kagame also met with Mo Ibrahim, the chair and founder of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, with whom they discussed continental and global affairs.
