Allan's Life Principles:It is a blessing to pray for others

The people that we interact with fall in categories of relatives, friends, workmates, bosses, classmates, neighbours, etc. All these categories of people contribute to various aspects of our lives and our well being both directly and indirectly.

In various circumstances we have made statements wishing the people around better things in their lives. It could a wish for their success in exams, a safe journey, success after graduation and other endeavours.

Yes we do wish these people the best in their lives but have you ever taken a step further to operationalise the wish you have for those people? Have you taken time to pray for friends, workmates, bosses, classmates, neighbours, etc?

In good and in bad times we take off time to pray, praise and thank God for what he has done in our lives, our families, our businesses...... of the time you dedicate for prayers, do you take time to pray for your boss, neighbour at home, friends, workmates etc, the people that have both an indirect and direct impact on your life.

We all go though times when we feel we are so weak to even pray and you might require the prayers of the people around you to go through these hard moments. Like the Bible says, you more blessed when you give than receiving.

Job 42:10 Then, after Job had prayed for his three friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had had before.  Even when his friends had let him down, job forgave and prayed for them.

Colossian 1:9 For this reason we have always prayed for you, ever since we heard about you. We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will, with all the wisdom and understanding that his Spirit gives.

One of the strategies that the apostles adopted in order to persevere the persecution as they preached the word of God was to pray for each other.

Exodus 32: God was about to destroy the people of Israel when they decided not to wait for Moses who had gone to pray and get answers from God on the mountain. The Israelites decided to make themselves a small god because they felt tired of waiting for Moses who had gone to seek for answers.

Their impatience almost caused their destruction had it not been Moses to plead for forgiveness from the Lord
Exodus 32:11 "But Moses pleaded with the LORD his God and said, " LORD, why should you be so angry with your people, whom you rescued from Egypt with great might and power? "
My dear friends your prayers will change the situations that others are going through, and their prayers will change your situation.

Friends, let your wish statement for the people around you be your prayer.

As you wish your friends a safe journey/success in life put that wish to the Lord through prayer.
You will be greatly blessed when you pray for the others.
