Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo are set to spice up the fourth edition of the Beach volleyball tournament that is scheduled to start this morning at 9:00am in Gisenyi.

Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo are set to spice up the fourth edition of the Beach volleyball tournament that is scheduled to start this morning at 9:00am in Gisenyi.

The two-day event will have three categories; veterans, men and women. The veterans will be comprised of nine teams; whereas the men and women will have 18 and 16 teams respectively battling for top honours.

According to the technical director of the national volleyball federation, Christian Hatumimana, the involvement of Ugandan and DRC teams will make the tournament very competitive.

"The involvement of Uganda and Congo is going to make it an exciting and competitive tourney. Also, the prizes on offer are very attractive,” he said.

The best team in each category will pocket Rwf180.000; the runners-up will get Rwf 100.000, while the 3rd and 4th team will be given Rwf 60.000 and 40.000 respectively.
