Web managers/masters should update their websites

Dear Editor,

Last time I read the New Time someone was complaining about the fact that some hotels and offices still display old maps of Rwanda.

I’ve found this kind of lagging behind in websites where the information given to the public becomes misleading because the web managers don’t update the content of their websites.

In technology, in a single day a lot can change. This laziness becomes more questionable when institutions that are supposed to lead in technology and education are the ones misleading people on their websites.

Recently I visited  the website of Kigali Institute of science and technology(KIST), only to find that they still post programs which no longer exist such as ‘technical education teachers’ program.

In fact, if you visit most of our academic institutions’ websites you can think that they are in competition of posting about new buildings instead of news to do with research and publications from their research centres if they exist anyway.

If you visit the websites of KIST and ULK you will have to notice this.

Yes, good and modern plans of buildings are needed but we need to know what is being done inside them.

Please web managers get close to your policy makers and post relevant information.
