Burundian duo joins AS Kigali

AS Kigali have announced the signing of two Burundian players Arthur Niyibikora and Jospin Nshimirimana ahead of the second round of Rwanda Premier League.

Nshimirimana was previously signed by Kiyovu Sports in July 2024 but did not play a single game for the Mumena-based side which is serving a FIFA transfer ban.

Meanwhile, his counterpart Niyibikora, 21, was playing as a striker for Hatta Club of the Second Division in the United Arab Emirates.

The Citizens signed the two players in addition to veteran midfielder Haruna Niyonzima who returned to the club earlier this week.

AS Kigali will now turn focus on preparing for the second round of the league campaign which resumes on February 8 after they were knocked out of Heroes Cup tournament following Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of APR FC.

They finished the first round of the league sitting in third place with 26 points, 10 behind league leaders Rayon Sports.
