Rayon Sport are eager to extend striker Jimmy Gatete’s (pic) stay at the club. The two camps are in talks aimed at sorting the details of the deal, Times Sport exclusively reports.

The Rwandan international joined the Blues in 2007 on a free transfer from APR, and signed a two year contract which climaxed last month.

Rayon Sport interim coach Baptiste Kayiranga still needs the services of the veteran striker, and he told Times Sport that Gatete is vital to the team and that his experience is crucial to the young strikers at the club.

"I definitely want him to stay because of his vast experience which he can pass on to the young players at the club.

Rayon’s Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya told this paper that the club wants to extend the player contract and that the executive committee is still discussing the details of the deal.
