The world football governing body, FIFA, is doing a commendable job which is bringing a positive impact on women’s football development in Rwanda, according to Rwanda FA’s acting National Women Football Development Officer Mireille Uwineza.
FIFA completed various development activities in Rwanda in December 2024 to empower women in football through hosting a Safeguarding and e-Connect Workshop as part of FIFA’s League Development Programme.

In an interview with FIFA.com on Wednesday, January 29, Uwineza commended FIFA for helping push the growth of women’s football in Rwanda.
"Through the FIFA Women's football league development programme, we have identified (an) opportunity to empower our women's football clubs with the tools they need to safeguard the women's game, while also professionalising their structures,” Uwineza, who doubles as assistant national team technical director, told Fifa.com website.
Rwanda is among the countries in Africa with a vibrant women's football league which is already attracting a host of foreign players.
