Ten years ago, Irembo embarked on a mission to transform access to public services through its IremboGov platform. Last week, on Thursday, January 23, 2025, Irembo hosted a workshop with various government institutions in Rwanda, providing a comprehensive introduction to its newly upgraded Irembo and outlining how existing services will be migrated to the new platform.

These enhancements demonstrate Irembo’s commitment to safeguarding user information and maintaining trust. The event convened stakeholders, including Chief Digital Officers (CDOs) and IT leaders from institutions hosting services on the IremboGov platform, as well as key partners such as the Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA) and the Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT), laying the foundation for a new era in the country's digital public service delivery.

"The improvements made to the IremboGov platform came from years of dedicated learning, feedback collection, and collaboration with our users and partners,” said Pattchen Ndjientcheu, Chief Product and Engineering Officer at Irembo.

"The upgraded platform embodies the knowledge we’ve acquired over the past decade, allowing us to refine our services to become more efficient, user-friendly, and impactful. Our transformation from months-long wait times to services delivered in days reflects our shift towards providing faster, more reliable access to services.”

This upgrade delivers a series of advancements for citizens, businesses, and public institutions across Rwanda:

Citizens benefit from a smoother, faster experience that saves time and cuts costs, offering greater convenience and efficiency.

Businesses gain improved access to government services, reducing administrative burdens and accelerating service delivery—allowing them to focus on growth and innovation.

Public institutions receive cutting-edge tools, including analytics, continuously improving security measures, and the ability to add new services much more quickly.

Protecting what matters most

In this age, discussing digital platforms cannot be complete without addressing data security.

The upgraded IremboGov platform incorporates an advanced security system, real-time monitoring, and rigorous access controls to ensure the highest data privacy and user protection standards. These enhancements demonstrate IremboGov’s commitment to safeguarding user information and maintaining trust.

"As we evolve, our approach to security has also evolved. Physical security once kept our services safe; today, digital security is our top priority,” declared Ndjientcheu. "The upgraded platform incorporates sophisticated layers of protection to safeguard your data, ensuring peace of mind for all users.”

Seamless transition, no service disruption

Irembo’s workshop with government institutions also provided an opportunity to reassure them about a seamless service migration with no disruptions.

During the migration period, the current and upgraded IremboGov platform will remain operational, as services will be migrated one institution at a time rather than all at once. A clear, step-by-step roadmap will guide the transition, and dedicated support will assist all users, ensuring the shift is as smooth as possible.

Whether a citizen accessing public services or a business interacting with the government, you can use IremboGov confidently during the migration period. All necessary services will remain accessible without interruptions, allowing you to fully benefit from the enhanced features of the upgraded platform once the transition is complete.
