RWANDA’S national football started residential training yesterday ahead of the scheduled international friendly match against Tanzania set for August 12 at Amahoro stadium.

The Amavubi team which is residing at La Palisse Hotel, Nyandugu was  taken through their first drills by head coach Branko Tucak, who returned back from Croatia over the weekend.

The Taifa Stars test for Tucak’s team is part of the Rwanda’s preparations for the September 5 crunch 2010 World/Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Egypt.

Meanwhile, Taifa Stars’ head coach Marcio Maximo has announced the provisional squad, which will play against Rwanda.

The squad of 31 players assembled yesterday for a weeklong training at Karume Memorial Stadium before departing to Kigali for the duel.

The Brazilian tactician has called up 25 regular players who will team up with six budding youngsters. The youngsters include Juma Nyoso (Simba SC) and Rashid Gumbo (African Lyon). The former has won the second call-up to the national team.
Others are Haji Nuhu, Tumba Sued, Yusuph Sued, Himid Mao and Amani Kamata.

Maximo also picked inspirational players who are trading their skills abroad to beef up the national squad.

Henry Joseph who plays for Kongsvinger FC of Norway, Nadir Haroub and Nizar Khalfan who are on trials with Vancouver Whitecaps will return for the duel.
