President Paul Kagame and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday, January 23, held a tête-a-tête meeting in the Turkish capital Ankara.

The two leaders met before joining the bilateral discussion of their delegations.

The two leaders are also expected to hold a joint press conference.

Earlier on Thursday, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame, who arrived in Türkiye on Wednesday, visited the resting place of Türkiye’s founder and first President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The President and First Lady are in Türkiye for a two-day official visit.

Later on Thursday, they will attend a State Dinner, which will be held in their honour.
