Musanze v Etincelles

AFTER successfully negotiating their way to the top flight, Musanze and Etincelles hope to go one step better when they face-off in the second division playoff final this afternoon.

Musanze, who finished as Group A leaders in the regular season, saw off Muhanga on the away goals rule in the playoff semi-final while Group B leaders Etincelles had to come from behind to dislodge a stubborn Military side.

Musanze coach Rafiki Nshiyimana insists that he wants his team to finish their season on a high.

"We achieved our target of qualifying to the first division but the team is still determined to win the game. It doesn’t cost us anything to be recognized as second division champions,” Nshiyimana said.

Musanze and Etincelles will replace relegated Kibuye and La Jeunesse in the top flight division.
